Choose the Right CNC Milling Approach

The right machining strategy depends on part geometry, tolerance requirements, production volume and the number of setups required

3‑Axis CNC Milling

Ideal for prismatic components with accessible features, including flat surfaces, pockets, slots and hole patterns

4‑Axis CNC Milling

Ideal for parts requiring indexed machining, rotary features and multiple faces in fewer setups

5‑Axis CNC Milling

Ideal for complex geometries, compound angles, curved surfaces and multi-face components requiring fewer setups

Horizontal CNC Milling

Ideal for box-type parts, housings, castings and multi-face components requiring stable machining and fewer setups

CNC Milling FAQs

Find answers to common questions about our precision milling service. Contact us directly if you need further support.

What tolerances can you achieve on CNC milled parts?
For most CNC milled parts, we typically work to tolerances of ±0.01 mm to ±0.02 mm. Tighter tolerances down to ±0.005 mm can be achieved on selected critical features, depending on part size, material, geometry and inspection requirements.
What materials can you CNC mill?
We machine aluminum, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, brass and engineering plastics. We also provide finish machining for castings and forgings when projects require near-net-shape manufacturing
Do you offer 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling?
Yes. We select 3, 4 or 5 axis machining according to part geometry, tolerance requirements, production volume and the number of setups required. Horizontal machining is also available for suitable housings, castings and multi-face components
What information do you need for a CNC machining quotation?
A 3D model in STEP or similar format together with a 2D drawing is preferred. Please also specify material, quantity, tolerances, surface finish, heat treatment and any inspection requirements
Can you provide inspection reports with CNC machined parts?
Yes. Depending on project requirements, we can provide dimensional inspection reports, CMM reports and material certificates. Critical dimensions and GD&T requirements can be verified according to the drawing

Have a Cast + CNC Part to Quote?

Send us your 2D drawing or 3D model. We can review the geometry, material, quantity and tolerance requirements and suggest a practical manufacturing route.
